I have been submitting skins (dreams, logon studio vista, wallpapers, screenshots) here on wincustomize since january,2009.
In the beginning as a newbie I did'nt know much about the submission guidelines and submitted a few dreams in which the background image wasen't my creation. A few days later those skins were pulled down from wincustomize and I was notified by e-mail that I cant use other's images without permission, I myself realized this was indeed right and agreed to the fact so only my original creations stayed at the gallery.
Since then whatever I submitted is 100% my original work, (not even others work with permissions) as what I want to share over here is my original creations and also I don' believe in re-putting others work (with permissions) as I can create my own.
A few days back, I made some new logons n wallpapers, some of them were for my personal use n the others to be uploaded here, in a haste as I was getting late for some important work, I uploaded one of the skins which I made for my personal use here by mistake.

" I APOLOGIZE TO THE MODERATORS "- it is you who make us a better skinner each day.

Amit,

What I read is:

***The continued use of other peoples walls will/can get your upload privileges revoked if you don't have permission to use them.****

What I think is  that when you decide to upload anything slow down. Check what you are uploading. Make sure it's what you wish to upload. Make sure the zips contain only what you intend to upload and no 'extras'.

Be careful about what's personal and what's public....you probably wouldn't think of sending private info in an email to just anyone, or undress in front of an open window...but that's what's happened (so to speak) albeit innocently.

Store the stuff for personal use in encrypted files, and the stuff for uploading in quite another.

Then, when you're ready to upload, go down a written check list, step by step. You can't go wrong that way. I know it sounds crazy, but if you lose your privileges, how will you feel?

Finally, don't ask the members to second guess Moderation. They're just doing their job, and if you had been more careful...this post wouldn't be here to respond to. No one said to you it wasn't an accident. However, as you yourself said, this is the second time. Maybe it's like baseball...3 strikes and you're out. I don't know, but I wouldn't push it.

The Moderators, Jafo, I.D. and Brad have the final word. It isn't going to change because of the results of any poll you conduct. I think you'd spend your time more profitably making that list I mentioned above. It'd be a major downer for me and many others to lose seeing your creations just because you were in a hurry.

Also, instead of making a a forum post telling people you steal others works, it would be best to PM a mod as Doc and others have said here and on other posts.  Once you've been caught and warned, you have made yourself know to all the mods and they watch you closer.  So even an innocent mistake can have negitive results and all your stuff can be rejected and you will need to prove its yours.  Think about it.  We get complaints all the time that people are using my stuff without my permission and that other sites have my skins and I didn't upload or give them permission to have then there.

At this point in time your uploading privileges have not been revoked. There is no set time limit on revoking uploading priviledges on any submitter but a continued disregard of the submission guidelines could result in a permanent revocation.

Thank you WOM, but as I've mentioned in the post -

In the beginning as a newbie I did'nt know much about the submission guidelines and submitted a few dreams in which the background image wasen't my creation.

And now as you say im watched more closely, clearly indicates that since then I did not repeat it and wateva work I submitt now is my 100% original creation.

So, my question is that will I not be forgiven for the mistake I made in the beginning as a newbie unknowingly?

Thanks for the info. Hankers.

PM's/emails are between the Mod and the person it was sent to.  Seems more and more the people like to post them.  If the Mod posts a PM/email the person and community would be all over the Mod.  Think about it.

You were watched real close for a while then you were treated like someone that didn't post others works.  Then you slipped one in again (for whatever reaswon), so now your watched again.  Thats not picking on you, its watching out for other peoples property.  Part of the job(which we don't get paid for).  I'am sure with some thought on your part, you'll have to agree thats fair.

Well.....since your privileges have not been revoked and you now know you should not submit other peoples work...I think it's safe to say you can put this behind you. From here on its up to you. Unfortumately some people never learn and continue to steal other peoples work...make a slight alteration and call it orginal work...not realizing that those of us that have been here for some time will spot it regardless.

You are absolutely correct, I totally agree with you.

My intention for this post was just to know that "has all my hard work  gone to the dustbin just coz of a single mistake which was unintentional as I mention above"

Would not the moderators take into consideration the good work which im doing?

That's about as true as it's gonna get:

"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time....but you can't fool all of the people all of the time."

1.  which is what pm's to mods are also for... or

2.  determine the answer... is all your work now deleted? or is it still in your gallery?
